The state government was asked to file its response on the matter by September 23, but the NHRC has not received any reply till now, Commission sources said.

Fifty-one-year-old Rajbala, who was battling for life for the past around four months in G B Pant hospital after she sustained injuries in a police crackdown against yoga guru Ramdev's fast at Ramlila Maidan, died on Monday.

Commission, the sources said, during its proceedings on August 18 had asked Delhi chief secretary to inform the NHRC about the health conditions and medical facilities provided to her for treatment and had set September 23 as deadline for submitting the report.

The NHRC also asked the chief secretary to inform it whether any monetary relief was paid to her.

"We expect a report from the government. However, they have not met the deadline we set for them," a senior NHRC official said.

During the proceedings in August, Delhi Police had argued that Supreme Court was seized up with the Ramlila Maidan police action after which the Commission said they would desist from making further inquiries in the incident. It also asked the government and police to sent a copy of any order issued by Supreme Court in this case.

However, sources said, the Commission was concerned about the health of Rajbala and had decided to ask the government to give a report on her health conditions.
