The Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to stay the phasing out of Blueline buses from city roads. A bench headed by Justice AK Sikri turned down the plea of Blueline Bus Operators' Association that sought an interim relief for temporary extension of permits at least till the government takes a decision on their petitions challenging the phasing out.

The Delhi government contended that the Blueline buses must be phased out from the national Capital as they are a threat to pedestrians and amount to violation of their fundamental rights.
The hearing will continue on Thursday.
Contending that there are enough number of substitute buses at present on the road, the transport department of the Delhi government submitted before the court that it was fully equipped to deal with the situation after the phase out of the buses.
