Delhi: Man jumps before Metro train, dies

A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a Metro train at east Delhi's Karkardooma station on the Blue Line on Friday.

A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a Metro train at east Delhi's Karkardooma station on the Blue Line on Friday.

The incident took place around 5.22pm. According to police, the man, who is yet to be identified, jumped in front of the train which was coming from Dwarka and heading toward Vaishali from the platform.

"He died on the spot as his body was cut into two parts. Traffic on the Blue Line was hit for nearly ten minutes as the body had to be taken off the track," said a police official. Police has registered a case and efforts are on to identify the deceased.
