Delhi Police recalls former officers to secure Games sites
Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the Common-wealth Games the Delhi Police has recalled senior officers who served in Delhi but now have been transferred to other states.

The department has reportedly decided to bring back their most experienced men back to the city if only for a few days.
“These officers worked in the city before. They have the expertise which will be helpful in handling the Games,” said Rajan Bhagat, spokesperson for the Delhi Police.
In the list of Delhi Police officers who have served in the city, former Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar also figures. He was earlier heading the Special Cell of the Delhi Police.
Kumar, who is currently posted in Arunachal Pradesh, is to handle the security at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium due to his experience of handling sensitive anti-terror operations.
Divesh Srivastava, too, who was earlier DCP (North Delhi) is to look after C4i, the command centre for the Commonwealth Games inside the police headquarters.
Srivastava is also posted in Arunachal Pradesh.
Another former Delhi Police officer, RS Ghumman, who was earlier with the Legal Cell of the Delhi Police, has been made the in-charge of the security at Hotel Ashoka.
According to the police, because all the senior brass is currently deployed at the Games venues and other key installations, the Delhi Police decided to recall the officers who were posted in the city earlier.
“We had asked various states to send their officers but only some of them have responded. They will head back to their respective postings soon after the Games,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he was not authorised to speak to the media.
The city is also housing a battalion of para-Commandoes at the CGO Complex.
They would be working as a back up for National Security Guards.
