Delhiites witness torrid time due to heat

With mercury showing no sign to recede and heat waves intensifying across the country, the temperature is expected to rise further.

With mercury showing no sign to recede, Delhiites had a torrid time on Monday morning.

The temperature touched 30.2 degree Celsius, three degree Celsius above the normal temperature, at 8.30 am. The temperature was recorded at 27.3 degree Celsius on Sunday morning, Meteorological Department officials said.

The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours hovered at 40 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal while the minimum was recorded at 24.9 degrees Celsius, four degrees higher than the usual temperature for this time of the year.

As the heat waves have intensified across the country, the temperature is expected to rise further, Met officials said.

Met department said the sky will remain clear in the next 24 hours and indicated that temperature may touch the 41 degree mark on Tuesday.
