A 38-year-old dhaba owner was beaten and stabbed to death when he objected to two men smoking inside his eatery in Shahadra on Wednesday night. The police have arrested the two attackers identified as Shakil and Feroze.

The incident occurred around 9 pm on Wednesday at Sada Bahar dhaba owned by Jagir Singh.

One of the accused, Feroze, lit up a cigarette. “Jagir told him smoking was not allowed. Feroze and his friend Shakil took up a fight with him. They argued and left the place. After some time, the duo returned with a knife and attacked Singh. They fled the scene after that,” said Jaspal Singh, DCP (northeast).

Jagir started bleeding and died on his way to the hospital. A case was registered at the Shahadra police station and the accused were arrested on Thursday.
