Divisions in the J&K Congress have surfaced yet again, and were on show on Sunday, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Parallel rallies were organised by the factions supporting health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and state Congress chief Saifuddin Soz.

Power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was the chief guest at the official rally at Lower Roop Nagar, Azad chaired the meeting organised by NGO Gandhi Global Family at Parade Ground.
Both factions claimed their respective rally was a "huge success". The other side was equally upbeat. "Is jalse ke liye Jammu mein jagah chhoti padh gayi (The venue was small for such a huge gathering," said MP Lal Singh.
