According to police, the incident happened onboard the Sampad Kranti Express. "A few army officials and jawans were coming from Bangaluru with computers and accessories issued by the army. When they disembarked at the Nizamuddin Railway Station and went to collect the cargo from the break van they found it was missing," said a senior police officer.
According to a senior army officer the merchandise they were carrying was worth over Rs. 3 lakhs.
"We booked for the break van on February 13 and placed it in the van the next day in Bengaluru. It was only when the army jawans came to Delhi they found about the theft. It seems that the thieves broke the panels from inside and made their way with the computers," said a senior army officer.
The officer added that as many as five computers and others accessories were taken.
A case has been registered at the Nizamuddin Police station. They are trying to find where exactly the theft took place.
