Faulty footpaths in E Delhi

Samarthyam, a Delhi-based civil society organisation working to promote inclusive environment for people with disabilities and senior citizens, has accused the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) of constructing faulty footpaths and bicycle tracks at Ganesh Nagar near Mother Dairy.

Samarthyam, a Delhi-based civil society organisation working to promote inclusive environment for people with disabilities and senior citizens, has accused the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) of constructing faulty footpaths and bicycle tracks at Ganesh Nagar near Mother Dairy.

Samarthyam said that the design was unsafe and so most people are forced to walk on the road that witnesses heavy vehicular traffic.

There were also no boards to identify the bicycle track. The organisation had undertaken a mobility and accessibility audit with a senior representative of UTTIPEC and a representative of the civic body.
