The initiative was launched after a girl called up RJ Khurafati Nitin, seeking help for her brother who had completed his jail term for a petty theft but could not be released because he could not pay his fine.

Soon after the call, Nitin asked the Delhiites how the undertrial, Ashok, should be helped.

Delhi overwhelmingly responded to the call and pledged all support for securing the release of Ashok.

Nitin went to the Tihar jail and got to know that were several prisoners who, despite completing their jail terms, still languishing there because there was nobody who could pay the monetary penalty imposed upon them by the courts.

The RJ requested the Tihar director general to release Ashok and through his programme showed him the incredible support of Delhiites behind the appeal. He agreed and Ashok was released on Friday.
