“The CBI has re-registered the original FIR lodged by the economic offences wing (EOW) of the Madhya Pradesh Police in which Singh was named as accused along with about 10 other senior officials. The case has been registered on the directive of Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court,” said a CBI officer.

According to CBI sources, the case relates to changes that the mall—Treasure Island— was illegally built on a residential plot and the state government under the then CM Digvijaya Singh gave undue concessions to the developer.

The court also sought a report in six months from the CBI.
