A Delhi fire services constable allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from his bedroom’s ceiling fan at 10:30pm on Monday. No suicide note has been recovered.

“On Monday, Soukendra, 35, came home at 8:30 pm, but went early to bed. His wife, Devender Kaur, asked their 11-year-old son to fetch a magazine from Soukendra’s bedroom. It was then that he saw his father hanging from the ceiling fan,” said a senior police officer.
A PCR call was made to the police at 10:30pm and the deceased was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased was posted at New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri fire station. Singh’s two brothers had also committed suicide. Singh was a resident of Gali No 6 in Ranjeet Nagar and his wife was posted as an Assistant Sub Inspector at the Subzi Mandi police station.
