The incident took place at about 1.30 on Tuesday afternoon when the children were returning home after school.

The private school van carrying Ankur (4), Pranav (11), Ritika (10) and Rafey (6) had just reached the Tilak Marg intersection point when it hit the Bolero. The Omni’s driver, Farhan (21), was on the wrong side of the lane, police said.

The children sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where they were administered first aid.

The driver of the Bolero and bystanders caught hold of Farhan, a Chandni Chowk resident, and handed him over to police.

“An FIR has been lodged against Farhan at the Tilak Marg police station by the Bolero’s driver and he has been arrested,” a police official said.
