Four policemen suspended for cremating road victim’s body

Relatives of an accident victim held a protest at the Senior Superintendent of Police’s (SSP) office on Wednesday, alleging the police cremated the victim’s body without informing them.

SSP RKChaturvedi immediately suspended the four policemen. Those suspended included Harola chowki incharge Omprakash Sharma, Hari Darshan chowki incharge Pawan Malik, constables Gajinder and Balkishan. The victim’s family members were not satisfies with suspension order, which they claim would be revoked in next few weeks.

On Tuesday a tractor had hit Punnadev Singh (55) in Harola area. He was rushed to hospital where he died during treatment. Policemen had cremated the body without informing his family members.
