There are a total of 17.3 lakh consumers in the jurisdiction of the BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL).

A BSES spokesperson on Friday said, “Starting March this year, BRPL will be adopting monthly billing for all its single phase consumers (domestic/non domestic and industrial) who are currently being billed bi-monthly.”

Explaining the reasons behind the monthly billing, Gopal Saxena, CEO of BRPL, said: “Providing 12 bills in a year instead of six bills will make it easier for consumers in south and west Delhi to better manage their monthly expenses and electricity consumption.”

But the change in billing cycle doesn’t mean consumers will not get all the benefits they are presently enjoying, he said.

“For instance, they will continue to get 15 days before the due date to pay their electricity bills and those eligible will also continue to get subsidy and slab benefits as before,” added Saxena.
