The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau has seized a full skin of endangered big cat from United States sent to a trader in West Bengal as rug. The silk of Puma was detected at postal office in Kolkata sent through US postal service.

In the recent past, the WCCB has seized large number of parcels containing wildlife and its derivatives from the foreign post offices which were illegally being smuggled out of the country. Considering the modus operandi of smugglers, WCCB is emphasising on strict scrutiny of inland and foreign parcels.
