The deceased, Vishal Gupta (36), sustained a bullet injury in his chest and was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Noida for treatment.

“He died at the hospital due to his injuries which were probably suffered by gun shot from a country-made pistol. There were around 3-4 assailants involved in the crime and our investigation is on,” said Raghubir Lal, senior superintendent of police.

The police official also denied any dispute resulting out of the cricket match. “The reason could be a business rivalry or personal enmity. We are yet to trace the assailants,” Lal said.

Gupta’s family has lodged an FIR in the case against unidentified assailants.
