An Indian journalist working undercover to expose immigration and education scams in Australia was assaulted over the weekend.

"I am not sure that there was a racist agenda behind the attack. Nowhere has it been reported in such a way, but I know some anti social elements have attacked this indian journalist," Ravi told reporters in New Delhi on Monday.

He said he is in touch with the high commission there for a report on the matter.
