Criticising the UPA government for its "mishandling" of the Telangana issue, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav said on Thursday that Lok Sabha could not function for four days because of it.

"The Telangana issue has been mishandled by the government and due to this, Parliament could not function during the last four days of the winter session," Yadav said, adding that the government acted in "haste".

"Creation of Telangana is an issue which had dominated all the recent elections. Government did not do proper groundwork before making a statement on it," Yadav said, adding, once peace prevails in the region, then it can be resolved.
