A ministerial panel will decide whether India will auction more telecoms spectrum in 2011/12, Finance Secretary Sushma Nath said on Monday.

Government last year raised about $23.5 billion from auctions of third-generation (3G) and wireless broadband radio airwaves.

The federal budget for 2011/12 estimates revenue of 296.5 billion rupees ($6.6 billion) from communication services that includes licence fee and spectrum usage charges paid by carriers and proceeds from broadband spectrum auctions.
