Mr Thu-Thu Kumar (who spits), Mr Su-Su Kumar (who pees in public) and Mr Kuda Kumar (the litterbug) — characters of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s proposed ad campaign — will soon be seen on bus kiosks, hoardings, television and radio. The idea is to embarrass offenders and to raise awareness against spitting, urinating and littering in public places.

Dilli wallas couldn’t be happier. “Public embarrassment is the only option that works with people here,” says writer Priya Sharma. “This is the coolest thing MCD has done. These characters will become a part of pop-culture soon,” says engineering student Swati Gupta.Youngsters also have a few suggestions. “Draw cool caricatures to represent each character, like the Zoozoos,” says Sidharth Raheja, a BPO employee.
