HC asks cops to protect witness

The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the police to provide protection to a man, who had appeared as a witness against suspected Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Front(JKIF) activists.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the police to provide protection to a man, who had appeared as a witness against suspected Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Front(JKIF) activists.

The order came on a petition filed by the man, saying that the trial court has convicted the activists of the banned organisation in 2002 for “anti-national” activities. However, the threat calls continued to haunt him. He claimed to have received threat calls from countries like Pakistan and Dubai.
