The Delhi High Court on Thursday took a strong view on the absence of Juvenile Justice Boards in the city. The court directed the Delhi government to make the infrastructure needed for the boards to function is ready and they become operational within four weeks.

A division bench of Justice Dipak Mishra and Justice Manmohan, citing speedy justice to children involved in various trials, directed the government to take quick steps.
Najmi Waziri, counsel for the Delhi government, said the building is complete and basic infrastructure facilities such as computers and fax machines would be up and running within two weeks.
The Bench asked the government to make the third Juvenile Justice Board functional within four weeks.
At present, there are two Juvenile Justice Boards functional in the city.
