“The man has been identified as Shiv Kumar Sinha (45), who had been practicing at the Delhi high court for the last 15 years. We were informed approximately an hour after his body was found by his 73-year-old father AK Lal Sinha, who had come from Hyderabad a few days ago,” said a senior police officer.

Police said the body was found around 12:15pm when the senior Sinha knocked on his son’s door several times but received no response.

“When there was no response, he alerted the neighbours who eventually broke open the door and saw the body hanging from the ceiling fan. He was rushed to AIIMS where he was declared brought dead,” the officer said.

A suicide note has been recovered in which Sinha has stated that he was depressed over professional issues and that no one should be held responsible for his death. HTC
