The Lodhi Colony Police have arrested Arif Khan (23), an alleged murderer and extortionist, who used a modus operandi similar to one used in the film to scare people.

In the film, the protagonist places the head of a horse on the bed of one of his victims to intimidate him.
According to the police, Khan allegedly cut a chicken and threw it outside the house of a victim from whom he planned to extort money.

According to the police, Khan used the stunt to scare Habibul Hassan, resident of Daya Nand Colony, Lajpat Nagar.

Hassan deals in garments and owns a factory in Manihari Street, Farukhabad, and also two offices in Tuglakabad and other in Lodhi Colony.

“On December 22 he received the first extortion call for Rs. 50 lakh. Khan threatened to kill him if his demands were not fulfilled, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal.

“In order to create panic, the caller cut a chicken to pieces and threw it in front of his house in Farukhabad Kanpur and threatened that next time he would cut an arm of his relative and send it to his house in Delhi,” Dhaliwal said.

A team from the Lodhi Colony police station under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Defence) Mehar Singh and Inspector Rajender Singh, Station House Officer Lodhi Colony and Sub-inspector Pawan Tomar among others nabbed Khan.

Dhaliwal said a deal was struck with the caller, who agreed to accept Rs. 5 lakh as first the installment.

Khan was caught near Surya Crowne Plaza in New Friends Colony where he had come to collect the amount.
