The downpour that lasted for over an hour resulted in water logging and slowing down of traffic in some areas. The rain has brought down temperature to comfortable level as the mercury plummeted to 36.5 degrees.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 30.1 degrees. Met department said till 5.30 pm on Monday, a total of 39.6 mm of rainfall was recorded.
The city had experienced monsoon showers on June 30 but after that the rains almost eluded the national capital.
