Jung, who was appointed as the L-G on Monday, was visited by the top rung of the Capital's academic and political circles.

Among these high-profile visitors were Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, her son and MP Sandeep Dikshit, Chief Secretary DM Spolia and area MLA Asif Mohammad Khan.

And even though a formal date of his taking over charge of the L-G office is yet to be set, Jung had already begun his work in earnest.

"For starters, it was extremely gracious of the chief minister, who has held charge for 15 years, to visit an L-G who is just 18 hours old. That was a very humbling experience," he said.

Jung, who had served as the district magistrate for 10 years in the past, hoped to use the very experience to bring about a change in the law and order situation in the city.

"As a citizen of the city, my priorities are the same as that of every citizen. The security of women is a major issue, so is the overall law and order situation in the city. Once I get going, my priorities will be based on my ideas as a citizen of this city," he said.
