High voter turnout in TN, Kerala and Puducherry

Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry today recorded a very high turnout of voters with an average of about 78 per cent.

Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry today recorded a very high turnout of voters with an average of about 78 per cent.

Tamil Nadu and Kerala registered approximately 75.21 per cent and 74.4 per cent turnout respectively while Puducherry the highest at 85.21 per cent, the Election Commission here said. Deputy Election Commissioner J P Prakash told reporters that the polling was peaceful and the percentage is likely to go up as voters are still waiting to cast their franchise in some polling stations.
