Clinton went to Advani's residence after a lunch Prime Minister Manmohan Singh hosted in her honour.

Advani, leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed optimism about the future of India-US relations and voiced concern over alleged use of terrorism by Pakistan against India, party sources said.

Clinton recalled her husband Bill Clinton's landmark visit to India in 2000 that opened doors for transformation of relations between the two countries when a BJP-led government was in power.
