Home guard suspended after found sleeping on duty

The service of a Delhi home guard was terminated on Saturday after he was found sleeping inside a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus on night service, in which he was posted.

The service of a Delhi home guard was terminated on Saturday after he was found sleeping inside a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus on night service, in which he was posted.

Around 11pm on Saturday, the bus started on route number 072 from ISBT, Kashmere Gate to Najafgarh. As decided by the Delhi Government, one home guard named Raj Bir Singh was on duty, being on night bus service.

At Dhaula Kuan, one woman pointed out that the home guard was sleeping. Taking a serious note, the Delhi government terminated the services of the home guard. DTC has also decided to suspended bus driver and issued a show cause notice to the conductor for termination of his contractual services.
