How about an interactive smog display in Delhi’s Madame Tussauds?

Catching a glimpse of celebs is common when you visit Madame Tussauds, but Delhiites have some unusual requests on who or what they’d like to see when the museum opens in Connaught Place.

World famous for its lifelike celebrity wax figures, Madame Tussauds museum has recently announced that a museum will soon make its way to Delhi, in 2017. Opening in Connaught Place, the museum will showcase wax figures of eminent Indian and International figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, American socialite Kim Kardashian, and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

So we decided to ask a few Delhiites whose replica they would like to see in the museum. While most wished for a statue of their favourite celebrity or figures of controversy like Rakhi Sawant, Sonam Gupta (#sonamguptabewafahai fame) and Kamal R Khan, some had really bizarre ideas for the museum.

“A statue of Kejriwal with a complaint box would be a great addition to the museum. We could also have a tag next to him that says — for entertainment only,” says Ajay Sehrawat, an anchor and entertainer. Stressed due to demonetisation and long queues at the banks, Rustam Mazumdar, a DU student says, “Why not have an ATM installed there with a statue of the common man holding old 500 and 1000 rupee notes? It’ll be a great reminder of this ordeal we’re going through.”

If you thought these were unusual, hotelier Anupam Sehgal had the most innovative idea. “A display of the ‘aam aadmi’ in a glass case with smog in it would just be perfect. Maybe a futuristic design would remind us where we’re headed if we continue polluting the city,” he says.
