The topic of the Twitter conference to be held between 4 and 4.30pm is “Community Radio: Road travelled and way forward” and is being organised on the eve of the third community radio conclave.

The live conference will give people an opportunity to interact with senior ministry officials directly.

Twitter users can directly tweet their questions to the I&B ministry on its twitter handle @MIB_India or by using the hashtag #ComRadio. Queries can be made through #ComRadio and @MIB_India.

On Thursday, Manish Tewari, I&B minister also launched “My India Initiative-A Digital Volunteer Programme” — an initiative to disseminate the development messages of the government across the social media platforms by registering citizens as volunteers.

“The initiative is a milestone as it would enable the government to disseminate information to citizens specially the youth of the country.

"It was a programme rooted in the principles of participative governance leading to real time engagement through the social media tools,” said Tewari.

Registration for the programme is now open at ministry’s blog inbministry.blospot.in
