A 29-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the third floor of a guest house in Sector 50 on Saturday morning.
A 29-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the third floor of a guest house in Sector 50 on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Nidhi Chopra, was a resident of Amritsar in Punjab. She had come to Noida to attend a marriage ceremony. The woman, along with her in-laws, was staying at Grand Divine guest house at Sector 50.
They were invited by Amit Arora, a resident of Sector 29. The ceremony was organised at the guest house.
Nidhi’s body was found in the morning by her family. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained and a probe has been ordered in the case.
"We have not recovered any suicide note. It is too early to comment on reason behind the suicide," said Parshuram, SHO at Sector 49 police station.
According to the police, Nidhi, a mother of a one-month-old daughter, got married a year ago to Ashish Chopra, a jeweller.
"When we got up in the morning, we did not find Nidhi in the room. When I went to the terrace, I saw her jump," Ashwini Chopra, father-in-law of the victim, told the police.
