A 16-year-old grievously injured girl has been rescued from a house in posh Vasant Kunj, where she was employed as a domestic help.

Police said that members of an NGO and a Delhi commission for women rescued the girl around 8pm. The NGO, Shakti Vahini, claimed that the girl had dog-bite marks all over her body.
The girl, who is from Jharkhand, has been taken to Safdarjung hospital and is kept at the ICU. “We will first conduct CT scan to understand the nature of injuries. She is unconscious,” said a doctor at the hospital, who did not comment on the dog bites mark.
“The house owner resisted. After four hours of work, we managed to rescue her. She has a fresh head injury,” Rishikant, executive director of Shakti Vahini, said.
“We will take the statement of the girl, NGO members and take legal action accordingly,” said BS Jaiswal, DCP (south).
