‘It turned out she was two-faced’

"I hired her in good faith because...I liked her face and I liked her behaviour with Ishaan. But it turned out that she actually had two faces," Gayatri said as she clutched Ishaan while addressing mediapersons at the Delhi Police headquarters on Wednesday.

After a two-day ordeal that followed Ishaan's abduction by 19-year-old Savita at the instance of the Singhs' current domestic help Pratima, Ishaan was returned to his family

after raids at several places, including Faridabad, on Tuesday night.

"Seema told me that she heard from the guards that we needed a domestic help. I

liked her and employed her," Gayatri said.

According to the police, the Singhs employed 21-year-old Pratima as a part-time domestic help a month ago and had instructed guards, gardeners and other menial workers employed in and around their residence in Maharani Bagh's I-block to refer anyone looking for employment.

The pall of gloom that descended on their two-storey residence on Sunday evening seemed to wither away as Ishaan's maternal grandmother, who refused to talk to the media, brought her grandson a chocolate cake to celebrate his return as he lay in his bed under the watchful eye of his mother.

"He is resting with his mother at the moment after the tremendous ordeal that he has been through. His father has gone to office. We have said all we had to and do not want to comment on the issue further," said a relative of the Singhs who refused to be identified.
