NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia announced the cancellation of its Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) entrance examination and said it will admit students through the National Eligibilitycum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the CBSE.

All the candidates who want to get admitted to the course and have not appeared for the first phase of NEET will have to appear for the NEET second phase conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Phase-II of NEET is scheduled for July 24.
“As per the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India regarding NEET, Jamia’s BDS entrance examination stands cancelled,” the university said in a statement.
Earlier Jamia was to conduct their own entrance test on June 3. The course admits 50 students.
Nearly 6.5 lakh students have already taken the medical entrance test in the first phase of NEET held on May 1.
Jamia will use NEET all India Rankings for selection under existing admission/reservation policy of the university. The university will also be re-opening the application process from June 1-15. This facility has been made possible for students who have not registered with Jamia for BDS admission. Those registered for the Jamia BDS admission must appear for NEET.
