Jaya asks party to get ready for early polls

After Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, it’s the turn of ADMK chief Jayalalithaa to quietly ask her party cadres to get ready for early polls.
At a closed door meet of her party’s executive on August 27, the Tamil Nadu chief minister told ADMK MLAs to list six areas that needed urgent action in their constituencies. She has also set up a group of four senior ministers to make immediate preparation for elections.
What took the AIADMK functionaries by surprise was that Jayalalithaa spoke to them only about the Lok Sabha elections at the day-long conclave. She wanted her party leaders to list what urgent works needed to be done in their areas to ensure that their party continued its winning streak since the 2011 assembly polls.
Jayalalithaa’s directive to her partymen was that they had to work the right way to win all the 39 Lok Sabha seats.
The AIADMK, like the Samajwadi Party and the Trinamool Congress, believes an early poll suits them politically as they stand to pick more Lok Sabha seats than they did in 2009.
On August 27, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav wanted the party workers to meet the state government officials to ensure quick implementation of "people related" work, wherever possible. Yadav had recently stated that the Congress would crumble on its own, giving indications that SP, on its part, would not pull the carpet beneath the Congress-led UPA government.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee had stated on August 29 that "we do not want the government to fall" but added she was not afraid of facing a mid-term poll either.
