Jilted lover killed Ghaziabad student

Killer wanted to marry victim’s sister; spurned, he sought revenge, reports Kapil Datta.

Thirteen-year-old Himanshu, the son of a BJP leader of Ghaziabad, was killed by a man who reportedly wanted to marry Himanshu’s sister. On Thursday, police arrested two men who had kidnapped and stabbed Himanshu to death on Tuesday near Ithera village on the Ghaziabad-Greater Noida Expressway.

The accused have been identified as Ajit Dalal (42) and Dharmendra alias Babloo (22). Himanshu’s father Harish Chand Joshi is a BJP leader of Ghaziabad. Dalal and Babloo are also both residents of Ghaziabad.

Station Officer Jag Mohan Sharma of Bisrakh police station said the duo kidnapped Himanshu from Ghaziabad and took him to Bisrakh on Tuesday. They stabbed him to death and threw the body behind a tree on the Expressway.

Their detailed interrogation revealed that Dalal wanted to marry Himanshu’s sister Jyoti, who is half his age. Jyoti and her family had turned down his proposal.

On October 4 last year, four men including Dalal assaulted Jyoti. On October 31, the family lodged an FIR against Dalal and others. “Joshi said police did not take any action and Dalal became aggressive. On Diwali, he came to their house and tried to molest Jyoti. Himanshu and his elder brother had thrashed Dalal that day. He fled after he saw neighbours coming to help the Joshis,” said Sharma.

“Dalal then hatched a plan to kidnap Himanshu. The motorcycle the accused used to kidnap Himanshu has been recovered. The steel rod with which Himanshu was beaten to death has also been found,” said Sharma.

“A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered against Dalal and Babloo. The accused have confessed to the crime,” said Sharma.
