Karzai hands over to India Afghan military wish list

Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai on Wednesday said he had given a wish list to India, making pitchfor military and civilian support to his country after the withdrawal of Western forces next year.

Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai on Wednesday said he had given a wish list to India, making pitch for military and civilian support to his country after the withdrawal of Western forces next year.

Karzai’s move could leave Pakistan more incensed about Indian role in Afghanistan.

The president, who said he wouldn’t seek another term in office, also said he couldn’t go into the specific details of the military hardware he had sought from India. Karzai held talks with prime minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday evening.
