A poll conducted among our readers reveals that majority want Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal to practise what he preaches on high accountability in public life and to live up to his words. Kejriwal tries to skip voting | Poll results
Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal drew flak on Tuesday as he decided to leave for Goa without casting his vote in the UP polls, only to come back later and find he wasn't on the voters' list.
Kejriwal left his home in Kaushambi, part of the Sahibabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh, without casting his vote and said he would miss his Goa flight and drove off when asked why he wasn't voting.
As his comment made TV headlines, he came back and headed for the polling booth - only to find he wasn't on the voters' list.
Following this, we asked our readers, as part of an HT survey, if Kejriwal should first practise what he preaches.
Among a total of 500 votes received till 10.00pm, 60% replied on the affirmative emphasizing that the Team Anna member's tall words on high accountability in public life didn’t quite match his actions.
185 negative votes were received while only 3% could not decide on his action.
