Chattrapal was arrested last night by a Special Operations Group team of Uttar Pradesh police from his home in Rabupura, his native town in the state, police said.

Chattrapal, who was in judicial custody, escaped after giving a slip to two constables on February 4, taking him from the jail to the Gautam Buddha Nagar Court here.

Before being nabbed last night he had dodged the police on three occasion in the last two months.

The Special Task Force had arrested Chattrapal from a hide out here on November 19, 2006, six days after the kidnapping of 3-year-old Anant, Gupta's son.

Anant had returned home three days after he was kidnapped and reports said a huge ransom had been paid to the kidnappers.
