Lanka to create safe zone for Tamil civilians: Menon

Sri Lanka has agreed to create a safe zone for Tamil civilians caught in the crossfire between the armed forces and the Tamil Tigers, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon said in New Delhi.

The Sri Lankan government has agreed to provide a safe zone for the minority Tamil civilians in the restive north, Menon told reporters.
