“The lawyers of Delhi strongly feel that citizens as well as leaders of any group or political party are free to express their views in peaceful manner in any democratic system,” said Rajiv Khosla president All Delhi District court Bar Association. The association said that such a Taliban-style act is against the very spirit of our Constitution.

Suresh Gupta, a litigant, said “Every other day, there is a strike in court on one issue or another. My civil suit has been pending for more than 10 years now.”

In a statement, the lawyers’ body said, “The advocates urge upon the Government to not insist on the non-inclusion of judges...in the Lok Pal Bill, failing which the lawyers will organise a nationwide agitation.”
