Liberhan Commission's term extended yet again

The Liberhan Commission probing the circumstances leading to the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya got its 43rd extension in the past 15 years.

The Liberhan Commission probing the circumstances leading to the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya got its 43rd extension in the past 15 years.

The panel headed by Justice M S Liberhan was given another two-month extension till February 29, Home Ministry sources said.

The Commission was constituted on December 16, 1992 by an order of the Home Ministry and was expected to submit its report within three months.

However, the Commission has taken 15 years and has incurred an expenditure of around Rs 7.2 crore so far.
