Seeing another man dating his former girlfriend, 27-year-old Narendra Khosla got so jealous that he decided to teach him a lesson.

Khosla, a manpower consultant, allegedly procured two mobile phones on the identification papers of the man his former girlfriend was dating and sent obscene and threatening messages to several ministers and Members of Parliament, including Minister of State for External Affairs, Shashi Tharoor.

Every time the messages were sent, police came knocking at the door of Manick Verma, a gym trainer at Constitution Club. Khosla had allegedly purchased the two mobile numbers, from which the messages were sent, on Verma’s identification papers.

Khosla alias Happy, a businessman from Rajendra Place, was picked up by Special Cell late on Thursday night. During interrogation it was revealed that Khosla, who got married three months ago, nursed a grudge against Verma and had even warned him several times.

Khosla’s former girlfriend, a chartered accountant, was reportedly going around with Verma whom she had met at the gym. Khosla reportedly sent 47 messages to MPs like Masood Madani, Brinda Karat and Sandeep Dikshit. The mobile was purchased on April 7 and police said Khosla got the numbers of politicos from the Internet. Verma told the police that he had lost his driving license eight years ago and had no idea who was using them.

Police said they have registered four cases under the Information Technology Act.

They said Khosla had also sent threatening SMSes to politicians and jewellers in Haryana.

"We are still interrogating Khosla to know details and motive behind the messages. We will take him on police remand," said a senior police officer.
