Madni's police remand extended by seven days

Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi sent Madni to police custody till June 26.

The special cell of Delhi Police produced Madni before the court after the completion of 14 days custodial interrogation.

Madni, who hailed from Madhubani district in Bihar, was arrested on June 4 from near Qutub Minar area in South Delhi.

According to police, Madni's role was that of a recruiter for the banned militant outfit and used to provide training to recruits in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The police sought his further remand on the ground that he had disclosed about links of LeT with banned Maoist organisations operating in Jharkhand.

The details regarding his e-mail account and monetary transaction were also yet to be ascertained, police said.

Bakshish Singh, counsel for the accused, opposed police remand, saying that they had enough time to interrogate him during his previous police custody of 14 days.
