"Writing the examination without even a ceiling fan was excruciating," said Shikha, a first year English (Honours) student. Power did not return for more than an hour during the three-hour exam.

"We are not asking for an air conditioned environment. All we want is that fans and coolers work. We are tense during the exam. The power cuts just make it worse," said Ankita Misra, another first year student.
