Mallika wins case against tenant

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat will now get back her 566-square feet house in Mukherjee Nagar, from where a coaching institute was operating for the last 10 years, reports Naziya Alvi.

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat has won a property dispute against her tenant over the possession of her house and non-payment of rent.

The actress will now get back her 566-square feet house in Mukherjee Nagar close to Delhi University, from where a coaching institute was operating for the last 10 years.

The court, however, refused her plea to direct the tenant to pay rent arrears of Rs 1.42 lakh, saying that there was nothing to substantiate that the actress had ever demanded enhanced rent, to which the arrears pertain, at any point of time.

The property was leased out to Aggarwal, proprietor of M/s Career Plus, in July 1998 for a monthly rent of Rs 6,000 with a condition there would be an annual increase of 20 per cent.
