Man arrested for raping daughter

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter. The accused, identified as Shahid, raped his daughter before his wife Imrana. She, too, has been arrested.

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter. The accused, identified as Shahid, raped his daughter before his wife Imrana. She, too, has been arrested.

The victim has been assaulted thrice. She was first raped on November 17, but the matter was reported to the police only on December 3.

Shahid had recently shifted to here from Mehrauli. The girl lived with her step-mother, Imrana, and father, police said.

“Shahid used to physically assault his daughter in Mehrauli. Fed up with her father’s act, the girl shifted to her aunt’s place in Jamia Nagar. Soon, Shahid too shifted there,” police said.

Before shifting to Jamia Nagar, Shahid gave it in writing to his relatives that he would not assault his daughter, police said. Later, Shahid shifted to Noida with his family, including his daughter. “On the night of November 17 while the girl was sleeping, Shahid raped her in front of his wife, Imrana. After that he raped her twice,” said a police officer.

On December 3, the victim managed to flee from her father’s Noida house and reached her aunt’s place in Jamia Nagar, police said. “She narrated the incident to her aunt and they lodged an FIR against Shahid and Imrana,” he added.

She was presented before a children welfare committee in Lajpat Nagar and has been sent to a children’s home in Tughlaqabad. “Her medical report has confirmed rape,” he said.
