A man was beheaded on the Katwa Azimganj Passenger near Bazarsau station in Murshidabad. According to the police, a village rivalry led to the killing.

Khokon Ghosh, (36), a resident of Kaighari village boarded the Katwa-Azimganj Passenger from Tiyan. He was bound for Behrampore to sell cottage cheese to a sweet shop. As the train left Bazarsau station, goons beheaded Ghosh and jumped from the moving train.
There were few passengers on the vendors’ compartment. Before they could understand anything, 4-5 armed goons pounced upon Khokon with sickles and beheaded him. Panicky passengers stopped the train by pulling the chain. When the train stopped, they fled. The head was recovered from below the seat. The train was delayed by over an hour due to the murder.
Ghosh’s father Sahadeb Ghosh said, “My son was a village headman at Kaighari. Recently a dispute broke out between Binu, a resident of our village and his followers, with my son. They knew every day my son travels to Behrampore to sell cottage cheese. Today they killed him.”
A senior officer of Azimganj GRPS said-“We have started a murder case and no one has been arrested yet.”
